Thanks for putting out this web page! Was a big help to get my brand new BB Pearl syncing with Lotus Notes. Surprisingly even after setting Lotus Notes to “Island” I still got the infamous “Internal Error #4238.”. Only after choosing “Edit current…” (from the same lower right menu where “Island” was picked from) and on the “Mail” tab for the “Mail file” giving it the full path to my local mail file C:\notes\data\xyzname.nsf it started to sync the calendar =).

My only suggestion about the photos is to email them to yourself to get them off the phone. I don’t know of a way to sync them.

Is there a way to transfer your pictures from you blackberry pearl to your macbook pro? I downloaded pocketmac for blackberry, but no area for pictures? ITs so frustrating! and help?

Hello Joan,

it seems you manged to sync your BlackBerry Pearl with Notes 7 using PocketMac. I tried to setup PocketMac without succes as yet. I wanted to use a local names.nsf as address book and a local replica of my mail file. So I left the server field blank and inserted only “names.nsf” as file name, respectively “mail/sberger.nsf” for my mail file.

PocketMac doesn’t seem to find find the files.

What did I do wrong? Thank you in advance!

Sorry, Bob, I don’t know of any other ways to sync with older Notes clients.

If you connect through your enterprise BB server you don’t have to fiddle with any syncing issues b/c it does it all over the network. That’s my only idea.

I just got the pearl and after 3 days of frustration I am told that it will not sync with lotus notes 5.0.5 ?+&*% Do you know of any other software available that will allow me to sync or do you have any other suggestions?

sounds like Gary doesnt know how to use Lotus Notes. Switching to ‘island’ has nothing to do with your lack of understanding how calendar works. I use the same instructions and it works wonders. I can leave the office and no need to boot up my laptop to see what meeting I need to attend. great review.

Not to be a gratuitous Microsoft booster… but I’ve dropped my Smartphone any number of times and never had a scratch. (I’m using a Cingular 2125, which is also known as the HTC Typhoon and IMATE SP5 and lots of other names.) It syncs with Exchange and Outlook though–don’t know how it does with Notes.
